Oak City Coffee Roasters, based in Raleigh, NC is hoping to hire adults with autism to help with their new product, Care Cups. Care Cups are just like K Cups and designed to be used in the Keurig brewing machine, but will be manufactured by adults with autism. Oak City Coffee Roasters already employs adults with disabilities through Wake Enterprises for labeling their coffee.
We Rock for Autism thinks it is great that they are working on employing adults with autism. As ASD becomes more prominent in our culture, with 1 in 68 kids being diagnosed, those kids all grow up to be adults and it is great to see people looking out for them!
